Boianapalli Vinod Kumar was born on July 14, 1957, in Hanamkonda, Telangana, India. He completed his schooling in Hanamkonda and went on to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Science from Kakatiya University. Deeply influenced by the socio-political landscape of the time, Vinod Kumar actively participated in student politics during his college years, laying the foundation for his future in public service.
In the late 1970s, Vinod Kumar joined the Communist Party of India (CPI), where he honed his leadership skills and developed a deep understanding of the socio-economic issues plaguing the region. However, it was his association with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi(BRS) that would shape his political career. In 2001, he became a founding member of the BRS party, which was at the forefront of the movement for a separate state of Telangana.
Vinod Kumar 's political journey gained momentum when he was elected as a Member of Parliament, representing the Hanamkonda constituency from 2004 to 2009. During his tenure, he actively advocated for the interests of the people of Telangana, focusing on issues such as irrigation, agriculture, and rural development. His commitment to public service and his unwavering dedication to the welfare of his constituents earned him widespread respect and admiration.
Vinod Kumar 's leadership qualities and his ability to connect with the masses have earned him a reputation as one of the most influential political leaders in Telangana. In 2019, he was appointed as the Vice-chairman of the Telangana State Planning Board, where he played a key role in shaping the state's development agenda. Under his guidance, the Planning Board formulated and implemented several initiatives aimed at accelerating the pace of development all sections of society.
